I recently read an article about Norway and how everyone became millionaires. They became millionaires when in 1969 Norway struck oil and all the money they stuck in a fund called Government Pension Fund - Global. This fund set the money aside for all their future residents and on January 9th everyone in Norway became millionaires. Norway invested in about 1% of the world's stocks, bonds and real estate from
London all the way over to Boston. The author calls these people 'paper' millionaires. He does this because they have $828.66 billion on just paper alone. Well why don't we get a fund like that? Our country doesn't have a fund like this because our national debt has soared to 17 trillion dollars! We don't have any money to invest.
